How much does a concrete pathway cost per metre in NZ?
Concrete pathways typically cost a little more per lineal metre than driveways because they're narrower and the set-up costs spread over less area. As a rough guide, expect somewhere in the range of $110–$180 per square metre fully installed depending on width, finish, access and ground conditions. The only way to know your exact price is a free on-site measure.
How wide should a concrete pathway be?
Front walkways are usually 1.0–1.2m wide for comfortable single-file use; garden paths can be narrower at around 0.8m. We measure your space and advise the right width during the free site visit.
What finish options do I have for a pathway?
Plain broom or texture-roll is the cost-effective, non-slip default; exposed aggregate looks premium and gives extra grip in shaded or damp spots; stencilled finishes add a bespoke patterned look. We'll show you samples and recommend the best fit.
How long does a concrete pathway last?
A properly poured and reinforced concrete path will easily last 30–50 years. The keys are a solid compacted sub-base, steel mesh reinforcement, correct fall for drainage and well-placed control joints to keep any cracking controlled.
Do you handle drainage and fall on a pathway?
Yes. Every path is graded with a subtle fall so rainwater sheds off the surface instead of pooling or running back toward the house. We set the levels during boxing so water runs where it should.
